Champaign-Urbana, IL
DESIGN ENGINEER
Responsibilities:
Design and test radio-controlled vehicles and related products. A degree in Mechanical Engineering is required for this position. Must have a good understanding of manufacturing techniques and materials as well as experience with machining equipment and other basic shop tools. Design experience using 2D/3D CAD software is required. Previous R/C car experience, including assembly and operation of hobby level R/C vehicles is desired. Full-time, days.
Electronic Engineer
Responsibilities:
Seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our product development team. Create innovative electronic radio control products that support business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering as well as 5 years experience performing electrical design and product development.

As an Electronic Engineer you will:
- Perform advanced design work, new concept development, product redesign.
- Create innovative electronic radio control products that support business objectives.

- Work with vendor data as required for the development of designs.

- Coordinate design projects from inception to completion.
Key Requirements for the position:
- Candidates must have 5 years experience in performing electrical design and development of products in accordance with other key requirements for the position.
- Experience with RF (radio frequency) and system design including 2.4GHz (900 MHz experience also desirable) antenna design, frequency hopping systems, FCC/ETSI requirements.
- Possess an extensive working knowledge of electronic hardware and software design.
- Experience developing software for micro-controllers, specifically Atmel/ATMega or equivalent, programming in C/C++ or equivalent.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Proficiency in electronic design engineering software applications (OrCAD or equivalent).
Other desired qualifications:
- Experience with design/development of DC power systems for brushless motor control, brushless motor design and electronic speed controls.
- Knowledge of battery and charging systems for NiMH, LiPo and/or LiFePO4 batteries.
- Experience with servo motor design and testing.
Helicopter Designer
Responsibilities:
Conceive, design, test, and develop new R/C helicopters and related accessories. Prepare reports and drawings to communicate results and recommendation. Must have the knowledge and ability to design, build and test new helicopters and related products. Experience in SolidWorks or AutoCAD and proficiency with MS Office suite required. An engineering background is desirable. The ideal candidate will be an experienced builder and pilot of R/C helicopters and planes. Full-time, days.
PRODUCT SUPPORT TECHNICIAN
Responsibilities:
Responsible for answering product related questions on inbound help lines. Must have strong desire to be involved in all aspects of R/C hobby. Above average oral and written communication skills required; good customer service and computer skills desired. Previous technical experience in all R/C product categories preferred. Full-time, days.
ELECTRONIC ORDERING FACILITATOR
Responsibilities:
Promote the advantages of using our premier ordering and informational website to our wholesale customers. Assist with future improvements in functionality and aesthetics for the site. Act as technical troubleshooter and lead customer contact as well as provide training on website usage. A minimum of three years' experience in sales and marketing and excellent technical knowledge of the internet and computer are required. Past experience with computer hardware sales and/or experience with computer repair and diagnostics desired. Full-time, days.
PHONE ORDER TAKER
Responsibilities:
Take inbound calls from our catalog customers. Earn $1 - $2 per hour in incentive pay. Work in a casual office atmosphere. Part-time hours, days, evenings, and weekends. Department is open 8AM-8PM Monday-Thursday, 8AM-7PM Friday, 9AM-4PM Saturday, and 10AM-4PM Sunday.
Sales Representative
Responsibilities:
Maintain sales contact with assigned customer base. Make outbound sales calls, sell weekly specials, promote account growth, and provide customer service. Assist customers with the promotion and merchandising of products. At least two years of sales or customer service experience required. Full-time, days Monday-Friday.
Forklift Driver
Responsibilities:
Assist with stocking and movement of product. Previous forklift experience preferred, but not required. Full-time position available on 3rd shift.
MACHINE OPERATOR
Responsibilities:
Operate machinery including saws, routers, and sanders. Be able to unload trucks when needed. The ability to read a tape measure and input information into the computer are required. Previous carpentry or shop experience desired. Full-time, days.
MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
Responsibilities:
Seeking a self-starter able to work independently in a clean and safe environment. Perform a variety of maintenance and repair tasks including electrical, plumbing, carpentry and painting. Must be able to lift 75 lbs. At least 3 years of maintenance experience required. Good HVAC diagnostic and maintenance skills a must. Full-time, days.
SECURITY
Responsibilities:
Perform periodic inspection tours of buildings and grounds to ensure compliance with established safety policies and procedures. Previous security, law enforcement or military experience or related educational background desired. Part-time, 2nd shift.
Warehouse Associates
Responsibilities:
Work in our warehouse assisting in the order fulfillment process. Full-time and part-time time positions available on 1st and 2nd shift. Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. Previous warehouse experience helpful.
Assistant Product Manager - Helicopter Team
Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate has a minimum of 3 years hands-on technical experience in the R/C helicopter and helicopter accessory field. A high level of R/C helicopter product knowledge and excellent working knowledge of helicopters and current helicopter hobby industry trends are required. Must have demonstrated ability to manage day-to-day operations of multiple projects and key components of consumer products development. Excellent verbal and written communications skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel required. Ability to travel for trade shows and other industry events is required.
